The 5 most common mindset mistakes – and how to fix them!
by Mark Baber, QHotels Golf Academies, Mental Coach
Golf is hard. It just is! The hardest part is without a doubt the golf swing itself. Swinging something small at high speed, trying to hit something even smaller that’s often nestled into the ground is never going to be “easy”. So why then do we go out of our way to make the challenge even harder for ourselves! To be fair we’re only human, so nobody; (yes myself included!) will have a faultless mindset on the course. With that in mind it’s not always about what you do, it’s what you do next in a sense – once you’re aware of what you’ve done you can react accordingly and change your behavior and mindset with relative ease.
With that said, let’s take a look at the 5 most common mistakes made on the course – and of course, how to fix them!

Power Tips – A turn for the better
By Caroline Grady, Teaching Professional, Dunston Hall
Improve Your Backswing To Potentially Increase Clubhead Speed And Gain Yards On Your Drive.
Let’s imagine power by thinking of your body as a spring storing up energy on the backswing ready to release it on the downswing. Now think about coiling an elastic band and note that it doesn’t matter how slowly you do it, the spring-back will always be the same. So my advice is please don’t hurry your backswing!
You’ll make your body coil by turning your shoulders on the backswing while resisting with your hips. Then you will reverse the process on the downswing.
