A tense final hole...
It was a shock win for world number 417 Adam Long, as the American claimed his maiden PGA Tour title at the Desert Classic in California. A bogey-free card for Long – in what was only his sixth tour event – led to a final round of 65, finishing on 26 under.
He fought off stiff competition from the considerably more experienced Phil Mickelson, who was left ruing a lack of composure on the greens, as he finished one shot behind Long. Mickelson had carded an opening round of 60 – his best ever round on tour – but he failed to cling on to his lead as Long claimed a well-deserved victory.
On the European Tour, it was an equally nerve-wracking end in the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, with Shane Lowry emerging victorious by one shot over South African Richard Sterne. It was the first victory on tour for Lowry since August 2015, and signals a return to form for the Irishman. A test of nerve was required with both Lowry and Sterne level on the 18th tee, but Lowry’s birdie at the last sealed the win.

Coming soon: Callaway Epic Flash This time two years ago, we were sitting here in fascination as Callaway introduced Jailbreak Technology for the very first time. Safe to say that the Epic driver was exactly that - epic - and produced major distance gains for the majority of golfers who were custom fitted for one. Fast forward to now and Callaway is bringing Epic Flash to market, which they say has a 'radically different face design' that will promote faster ball speeds and, in turn, greater distance. |

The last thing anyone wants is to purchase a new set of irons, only to struggle massively when they take to the course with their friends a few days later. Sound familiar? Well, with lots of new products about to land in-store for 2019, here is an iron model that we recommend having a custom fitting for... |
Mizuno's JPX919 Hot Metal iron is packed with stunning features to help you hit more greens in regulation than ever before. As its name suggests, the Hot Metal produces extreme ball speed for greater distance whilst maintaining a lovely ball flight. The great thing about Mizuno is its DNA fitting software. In just three swings, this unique system will tell us which iron model (7 to choose from) will be best suited to your swing, as well as giving us a choice of shafts - the engine of the club - that'll really allow us to make sure you walk away with the perfect set for your game.
