Lowry's long game masterclass
What a fine win it was at the weekend for Shane Lowry, who won the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational in fantastic style. The Irishman began the day two shots back, but emerged victorious to win by two from the big-hitting Bubba Watson. Of course, many of you will already know this and we dare say a few of you cashed in on the 100/1 shot, who has been in superb form this season.
My Buying Group, Foremost Golf, was invited to an equipment launch recently where Lowry was a speaker. In his own words he was "Striking the ball nicely" and put his recent good form down to improvements in his ball striking and long game. In the end, he struck some pretty impressive wedges, too - none better than on 10, where he fashioned an approach from behind the trees to stick the ball to tap-in birdie range.
Lowry admits to being more of a 'feel' player than being overly technical. Whilst you are undoubtedly born with such talent, a huge amount of hard work has gone into his game. If you haven't watched final-round highlights, make sure you do. And if you're desperate to start making some improvements, or perhaps add a Shane-like recovery shot to your armoury, come and see us or get in touch here.
