This past weekend Oulton Hall staged an event for members, with the prize being an all-expenses paid golfing trip to Morocco! A big turnout resulted in a tense competition with new member Damien Bowles winning by 1 with a superb 42 Points.
We'd like to congratulate Damien on his superb golf and hope he enjoys his trip this December!

Do golf lessons really work?

We’ve all heard the phrases in the 19th ‘I played badly today because I had a lesson this week’, ‘my swing is work in progress’ or ‘you have to get worse before you get better’ but how realistic is improvement and how quickly?
At Q Hotels Golf Acadmies we take the improvement of our golfers very seriously and instructors now measure the results of their tuition in terms of handicap and score reduction. As a test case I have measured the performance of my golfers during 2015. My clients largely fall into three categories.

Introducing your child to Golf

Whats the key to Rory’s power?

Rory Mcilroy is unquestionably one of the most powerful golfers of the modern age, however standing at only 5ft 10” its a lot more that size and brute force that allows Rory to crush drives over 350 yards on a regular basis. Rory even managed a 436 yard drive on day 1 of the 2014 Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open.
